The Eldritch Millennial and Miss Mac watched the Baldur’s Gate 3 teaser and marveled at the characters. Specifically the weird eldritch ones, like the mini Cthulhu* and that freaky jellyfish you see for a split second.
Now…I don’t remember a ton about BG (although I played the OG) and I was never much good at D&D in general, but that jellyfish is exactly the kind of thing I’d fixate on during a game.
And so, for reasons I cannot explain, I acted out how such a situation might go:
Me: I catch a murder jellyfish to give to my companion.
DM: You can’t do that. They’re just in-game ambience.
Me: But it’s part of my courting ritual.
DM: If you roll a 20, fine, you can catch one.
Me: rolls a 20
DM: ….I hate you.
Me: I JOYFULLY DUMP A MURDER JELLYFISH INTO MY COMPANION’S LAP.
DM: Your companion is sickened by your behavior.
Me:
*STOP MESSAGING ME I KNOW IT’S A FREAKING MIND FLAYER.
